  1. Ok so the sock bun was totally my best friend all summer. I literally kept mine for over 2 months-it was so comfy and convenient! And this bubble necklace….those colors are killing me. I’m really trying to save money here and you’re not helping with the $15 gorgeousness!

  2. Molly. I feel like a bad friend. Since my bike accident I have been SO BEHIND on my blog reading. I’m still sitting with 1,000+ posts to read in my reader. So many google reader won’t even tell me how many over 1,000. Anyway…I’m back, and I love your sock bun, and you look so freakin cute in these pics!! 🙂

  3. Love the sock bun on you! I know it’s not as easy as they make it sound. I have layers so it’s very, very difficult…but so, so worth it…when I get it right. You are just too darn cute. And that necklace fab 🙂

  4. 1st time visitor : )

Sock bun- way more complicated than I thought, especially if you have layers.

BTW, you are glowing. Just thought I’d let you know you look beautiful. Joy of Jesus, perhaps?

    1. thank you so much, nicole! it is definitely tough with layers but i made it work. and thank you. thank you for your comment (and I got your other reply… i think the Lord knows what He is doing ;)) xo

  5. I am HORRIBLE with the sock bun. I think my hair is too thin for it. I can always see the sock when I do it.

  6. Love the bubble necklace!!! Oh gosh I just had a post about how I’m still trying to perfect the sock bun!! I do think that the donut is a bit easier..although both prove to be a great arm work out! PS. I’d love it if you could come visit my blog and follow me if you like it!! 🙂

  7. I love your look, it’s classic but still really fun. I’ve been contemplating one of those necklaces, I love them so! And if I had enough hair, I’d probably jump on the sock-bun bandwagon too!

  8. Ha! That’s hilarious about the sock bun! I totally agree! I bought a donut bun device that I’ve had since Spring and just figured it out! I think you look cute with the bun, so rock it girl!!

  9. Thanks again for the “referral” to the bubble necklace, Molly! It’s been a great addition to my wardrobe and, like you, I seem to be wearing it all. the. time. On to your outfit… love it! Love the model face -you’re darling. Love the sock bun -you’re totes pulling it off. Rock it all with confidence, Girl! You look great!!! ~Sarah

  10. The sock bun looks fab!!! And I love that purple on you! That color is one of my favorite fall colors – I can’t wait until it gets colder! Perfect statement necklace.

  11. Molly that purple is SUCH a great color on you! I think you look VERY Fall trendy, like you could rock a college campus 🙂 Can’t wait to see you this weekend!

  12. I love my bubble necklace too… wear it pretty much every day, but you’re making me want to get another color – yours looks so great against the purple top, and I love the mix of fancy/casual with the denim jacket. Great bun too!

    1. thanks clare! the crazy thing is that the bubble necklace is white with clear beads on the bottom… so that way the necklace takes on the color of whatever you’re wearing it with. i LOVE IT! it’s like a fashion illusion <3

  13. I have to say, out of all the bubble necklaces I’ve seen, your color combo is definitely my favorite. As for the sock bun–well, it looks awesome on you! I have two left hands when it comes to stuff like that and I CANNOT seem to master it. It kind of reminds me of the topsy tail from the 90’s–I was definitely really terrible at that as well!

  14. I love the sock bun – it’s seriously a go-to for crappy hair days (and all the girls in my office do it too!). Love the dark colors with the white bubble necklace too – great look for transitioning into fall! 🙂

  15. High five for the sock bun!!! I still can’t do one. I don’t think my hair is thick enough. And these pictures are so good…love the background! And the model face is too cute….every time I take a pic not smiling I look like I am mad at the world!!

  16. Sock buns are a pain in the ass. I just have way too much hair for them. Which is sad because I actually like how they look. I think yours is cute!

  17. Molly, that bun is absolutely perfect! I haven’t tried a sock bun yet, but definitely believe it’s way harder than it seems! Beautiful necklace and this whole outfit is such a great transition to fall! Hope you’re having a great week, friend.

  18. I LOVE this necklace, love how it’s 2 colors. You look fabulous. I’ve only been able to do the sock bun once, I was so excited thinking I got it. And then I tried it again later and failed. Ha. Yours looks great! 🙂

  19. Nope. still can’t do the sock bun. You’re looks fab though. Also, I keep trying to not buy a second bubble necklace ( I have one in yellow..but..the black is so purdy) but you keep convincing me I need one. The outfit is really cute, definitely inspirational for the upcoming euro trip

  20. You are TOTALLY right about the sock bun. I found it quite difficult, especially since my hair is layered. I learned you basically just have to keep rolling your hair even if it doesn’t seem like it’s going into the sock and it’ll eventually just work somehow hahaha. I love the bright necklace with the dark colors. You make trends (denim jacket here) look so easy!

  21. Oh the sock bun…I did it a lot last spring, but now I feel like my hair is too long for it to stay neatly tucked, ya know? But you’re right it is pretty simple and surprisingly comfy!
I think this look is perfect for fall…and I am thrilled it’s only going to be in the 70s here today!!!

  22. Love the way you combine a casual look with such statement beads and the sock bun – nice. I hope you’ll join us next week for WW at my place

  23. Your sock bun looks great! It always looks different to the wearer than to everyone else. The outfit looks casual trendy and the necklace is perfect with it :).
    Cheers,
    Robyn

  24. I love your outfit!! For $46, you look trendy and super cute. I have not yet tried to sock bun. Recently I cut my hair, so I’m pretty sure it’s not long enough anymore!

I love that necklace and might have to copy you by purchasing one! Hope you don’t mind 🙂

    1. thank you so much, chelsea!! 🙂 it was my first REAL attempt at rocking the sock bun, it was tough to do at first but it grew on me. as far as the necklace, i can vouch for the link i sent you – she has GREAT necklaces for a great price – she lives near me and is awesome!!

  25. Okay, I really like cute, casual outfits like this! The combo of the jacket the layered shirt, those pretty, chic flats and the pants is adorable and so easy going. But then you throw in the spiffy extras, like that pretttttty necklace, and your clothes always have special little details on them, like the side splits in the shirt. It really adds up to showing off your personal style, which I love. 🙂
Those sock buns are not easy to do! I tried one and just ended up with my hair in one big tangle, although that might speak more to my inabiltiy to do my hair rather than the difficulty of the sock bun. 😛 I think it looks cute on you, I like how you added the little headband to it!

    1. thank you so much, katie!! you are always so sweet and your comments always mean so much because you just take such a genuine approach. thank you! just want you to know it’s appreciated 🙂
