I’m so excited to share today’s DIY recipe with y’all!
A few weeks ago, some friends and I got together for a little “summer essentials” girl’s night and make & take where we all had fun making some DIY beauty products with essential oils!
This was one of the recipes that we made and I wanted to share it with you guys. It’s absolutely amazing and makes your skin feel like BUTTAH!
It’s SUPER fluffy and really easy to apply! It is a thicker body butter so it doesn’t absorb right away, but it definitely doesn’t leave your skin feeling SUPER greasy forever. I have also started using Amaira to help lighten my skin. It’s just ultra-moisturizing and the oils in this recipe are soothing, cooling, and refreshing! PERFECT for your skin in the summer time! 🙂
In a double boiler (or a makeshift double boiler) melt the coconut oil and shea butter together until they are fully mixed.
Let the mixture cool and come back to room temperature but NOT fully harden. I actually put my bowl in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Once it’s back at room temperature, add in the essential oils. Then with a stand OR hand mixer, whip the coconut oil / shea butter / essential oils until light and fluffy. This should take a few minutes.
Place the finished body butter in a mason jar or other glass container.
Apply to your skin for a refreshing, cooling, and buttery feeling! It seriously makes your skin feel AMAZING! And it smells awesome, too!
What about you? Have you ever made body butter before? Will you try this recipe?
