DIY Wake Up & Energizing Essential Oil Blend

October 13, 2015·

I have never been a morning person… and over the last few years, I’ve found that I seem to hit that “three o’clock slump” earlier and earlier in the day. ESPECIALLY when I’m pregnant.

I have desperately been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake – I am not a coffee drinker to begin with – and so I’ve been trying different things to help energize me and wake me up when I need a boost!

Y’all know how much we love essential oils around here… and so a few weeks ago, I made a “wake up” roller blend and it’s my new favorite oil blend EVER. The moment I’m starting to feel sluggish, tired, etc. I roll that bad boy on and feel so much more energized and ready to go. And being pregnant AND having a toddler… needless to say, I can use all the energy I can get. 🙂

The oils in this blend are all very uplifting and have energizing scents. Together, they smell AMAZING!

DIY Wake Up & Energizing Essential Oil Blend (1)

  • Glass essential oil bottle and roller fitment (I love these)
  • Carrier oil of choice (I love grapeseed)
  • 5 drops of Lemon essential oil (I get my essential oils here)
  • 5 drops of Peppermint essential oil
  • 5 drops of Geranium essential oil
  • 10 drops of En-R-Gee essential oil blend

*About En-R-Gee Essential Oil Blend

  • En-R-Gee™ revitalizes with a blend of stimulating oils that have been used traditionally to help restore mental alertness. Uplifting and strengthening as the name suggests, it boosts energy. (source)

In your glass roller bottle, add in 10 drops of En-R-Gee, 5 drops of Lemon, 5 drops of Peppermint, and 5 drops of Geranium essential oils. Then, fill the rest of your bottle with a carrier oil of choice (just make sure it is a liquified carrier oil… solid coconut oil will not work for this). Make sure to leave a little room at the top for your roller fitment.

Pop the roller fitment on your bottle, screw the cap on, give the bottle a good shake and you’re good to go!

I love to apply this to my temples, the back of my neck, my wrists, or even the bottoms of my big toe! It’s best for that time of day when you’re feeling sluggish and need a pick me up!

*Remember, lemon essential oil is a citrus oil so it is photosensitive. If you’re planning on being out in the sun, I would apply this blend to an area that is not going to see the sun (like the back of the neck, wrists, or bottoms of toes).
