I realize this may sound like a cop out, but it’s the honest truth: mom brain is real, y’all. It is a real struggle. On a daily basis I find myself walking into the next room with something I’m supposed to get or do and I immediately forget what it was I went into that room for. I have found myself so forgetful and just let little things slip through the cracks that I would have NEVER let slip through the cracks before.
My friend Lindsay and I were laughing the other day because we both talked about how we can remember our kid’s vaccination records, doctor’s appointments, play dates, school schedules, when they last ate, when they last had a diaper change, etc. etc. etc. Yet, we cannot remember when we last showered.
The struggle is real. So real.
Anyway, I wanted to see if I could put together an essential oil blend of my own to help me combat some of that brain fog and mom brain I get! So, I did some reading about my beloved oils and put this little blend together that I’m dubbing the “buh-bye to mom brain” blend.
Now, the title is in good fun and I’m by no means guaranteeing that if you use this blend you’ll never have mom brain again. However, for me, I feel much more alert and able to concentrate when I use the blend! It’s great for supporting overall brain health and wellness, too. 🙂

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Well, all of these essential oils and essential oil blends, especially Frankincense, Brain Power, and Clarity are oils that contain high levels of sesquiterpenes. Now, I’m not a chemist by any means, but the short and sweet bit of it is that sesquiterpenes help to deliver oxygen to cells and help to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (basically the body guard that protects your brain from the bad guys). These oils also help to promote and support mental alertness, focus, and clarity. 🙂
In your roller bottle, add in all of the essential oils. Don’t worry, if you don’t have all the essential oils I suggested above, just use what you have and maybe add in some more drops. It’s all about using what you have! There’s really not an exact science to it. 🙂
Then, once you’ve added in your essential oils, fill the rest of the bottle with a carrier oil. Pop on the roller ball fitment, close, and give it a good shake.
Roll your “buh-bye to mom brain” essential oil blend on the back of your neck and / or on the vita-flex points for the brain (bottom of your big toe!). I like to apply this in the morning and throughout the day, but especially mid-afternoon when I’m feeling that mid-day brain fog / slump.
