I am going to be sharing some new and fun DIYs over the next couple of weeks to give you inspiration for making your own gifts this holiday season!!
This time of year my skin gets CRAZY dry… but especially my lips and my hands. My lips and my hands really tend to crack and just get very irritated and it can be really, well, irritating! So, I’m always looking for new ideas for moisturizing or exfoliating and keeping my skin feeling soft and smooth.
I recently whipped up a batch of this gentle moisturizing lip and hand scrub and it is a new favorite! Not only does it smell AMAZING, but also leaves my lips and hands feeling so, so soft!
Want to know how to make it? Keep reading!!
Combine all the ingredients in a glass jar and mix well. You may have to melt the coconut oil a little bit to soften it and mix it. I started with the coconut oil, then added the sugar, then added the honey. You may need to add more sugar to get it to be a little more “granular.” It’s not an exact science… I just sort of eyeballed it. You definitely want MORE coconut oil to honey, though.
Apply to lips or hands and leave on for 1-2 minutes. Gently remove with a warm cloth / warm water! Your hands and lips will feel AMAZING! I like to apply lotion or lip balm afterwards to really seal in the moisture.
I hope you give this recipe a try! This would also make a GREAT DIY gift for someone!!
