On this week’s episode of the Business with Purpose podcast, I’m chatting with Tim Scott, the co-founder of Mitscoots Outfitters – an Austin, Texas based clothing company that has a heart and mission to outfit *AND* employ individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Their approach to the one-for-one model is so unique and I love how Tim and his wife Agata saw a need and a problem, and decided to do something about it rather than just sit back and rest on their laurels. Tim is smart, hilarious, and so knowledgeable and we really got pretty deep into talking about the issues of homelessness in America, what we can do about it, and we even talked about some of the criticisms of the one-for-one business model and whether or not those criticisms hold weight. There’s also a point where I ask him about where the name for the company came from (I mean, Mitscoots is a pretty unique name, I figured there had to be a story!), and I was nearly crying laughing during our conversation. You’ll have to listen to find out why. 🙂

Together they have built a company with the ability to lift individuals in need out of poverty through work and community.
