Ingredients
1 14ozcan of tomato sauceI use organic tomato sauce - less sodium, no additives!
1 14ozbox or can of crushed tomatoes with BasilI used Colavita
1cupfree range organic chicken broth
1cuporganic heavy creamI get mine from Trader Joes!
1cloveminced garlic
Dried basiloregano, parsley, and thyme (to taste)
1drop of Taste of Italy essential oil blend from Young Livingoptional
Instructions
Combine tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, and chicken broth in a large pot.
Add in the minced garlic and dried spices. Let the soup marinate and come to a simmer. Then add in the cup of heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
I let the soup simmer for about 10-15 minutes to let the flavors mesh.
If you are adding the DROP (and I say one drop because it is a potent oil) of essential oil, add it at the VERY end and mix well.
Ladle your soup in a bowl, add some dried oregano on top and serve with a grilled cheese sandwich, a quesadilla, or even some crackers or pita chips! Yum!
