Ingredients

  • 5 to matillos husks removed and quartered
  • 1 small red tomato quartered
  • 1 small white onion peeled and quartered
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 Jalapeno peppers diced (remove the seeds if you want to tone down the spice of the salsa... leave the seeds if you like a kick in your salsa. I, personally, leave the seeds! :))
  • Dash of crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • Juice from 1/2 lime I, personally, love to use 1-2 drops of Young Living lime essential oil!
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender. I prefer a food processor because of the consistency it creates in the salsa. Blend or process until desired consistency. Taste the salsa! If it tastes a bit "off," I tend to add a little more salt, a little more red pepper flakes, and / or a little more lime.
  2. Serve and enjoy! I store my salsa in mason jars in the refrigerator and it lasts for about two weeks.
