My Little Gymnast
Warning: there are A LOT of SERIOUSLY cute pictures in this post. I am not sorry for including so many. š
My little Lilly is so insanely active. I mean, I know all toddlers are active, but this kid is like a monkey. She is NON-STOP running, climbing, attempting to jump, throwing, and climbing some more. I’ve been wanting to find something fun and active for her to do to… you know, channel and harness all that toddler energy.
Well, a new,Ā amazingĀ gymnastics facilityĀ called Triumph Gymnastics just recently opened up not too far from where we live and we had the opportunity to try it out! They have gymnastics classes for all ages, but what I was most excited about is that they have a “Someone Special & Me”Ā class that is specifically designed for toddlers ages 1-3.
So, last week Lilly and I signed up for a class. I was SO excited to take her! I had a feeling she would like it, but I had NO idea how much she would love it.
The facility is HUGE. They have so many different stations…
In the Someone Special & Me class, it is focused mainly on teaching the little ones basic body control movements, etc. I went into it having EXTREMELY low expectations, but honestly was blown away at how much she could do and how quickly she picked up on stuff.
We started out on the super bouncy trampoline. Coach Drew showed us how to get her jumping… just allowing her to feel the bounce of the trampoline and then get into small jumps. This kid was seriously having a BLAST.
Jumping all by herself!
Then Coach Drew showed us how to teach Lilly to do a forward roll. She did GREAT!!
Then I got to try it with her!Ā
She wasn’t so sure about the foam pit at first, so we just played with it instead… haha
And then she LOVED the foam pit!
The next activity was having her “walk” on the bars. I forgot the formal name for it, but she did really well!Ā
This was the one activity she wasn’t so sure about… so we just did some wheelbarrow moves instead.
Now the rings Lilly LOVED. She wanted to just hang and swing on them all day.
And, of course, anything that involves a beach ball is the best. “A BALL!” she kept screaming.
Next came the balance beam… and she was a PRO. She took to it right away!
At the end of the class, Coach Drew gave her a sticker (or a “teecoo,” as she likes to pronounce it).Ā
She seriously had so much fun. And I cherished this time with her SO MUCH. It’s something that I know I am going to remember forever.Ā
And, in typical toddler fashion, when I told her it was time to go home, she threw a tantrum. #reallife, people. We seriously had such a great time and I can’t wait to go back with her.
The people there were great, the facility was gorgeous, and I love how many classes they offer. If you’re in the Cary, North Carolina area and you have a little one (or really a child of any age), you should definitely check it out.
Thank you for having us out, Triumph!
And a huge thank you to my friend Emily for taking these images… honestly, I am going to cherish them forever.
*this post is not sponsored. We were able to attend a trial class, but EVERYONE is able to attend a trial class if they’d like. Simply visit the TriumphĀ website and click “Sign up for a trial” for your first free class!
