April 2015 Stitch Fix Review | Spoiler Alert: I Kept It All

May 1, 2015·

I know I’m a little late with my April Stitch Fix review… you know, seeing as how it is May 1st. Which, WHAT THE? It’s MAY?! April was officially the fastest month in the history of ever.

ANYWAY… my stylist Kimberly J. knocked it out of the park… again. She has totally nailed my style and I love her for it. I kept EVERYTHING in this fix because I loved it all so much! I couldn’t bear to send any of it back… haha!

Now, this particular fix review is a LITTLE different in that when my fix came we were on like day 190310983 of rain (obviously, not actually that many days of rain… but A LOT) and I just did NOT have the chance to get pictures of me trying on the items right away. So, I did things a little differently this time and I had my girl Emily from Em Grey Photography take pics of the items for me when we got together! Oh how I wish I could just bring her with me everywhere. 🙂 Haha!

But, I will share what I got (obviously), size, price, and my thoughts on each item!

Without further ado… my April Stitch Fix review!

Skies are Blue “Karla Textured Short” – Size XL – $44Skies are Blue "Karla Textured Short"

I absolutely LOVED the shorts out of the box. I specifically requested shorts this month and Kimberly (my stylist) knows I like to try different things, so she sent me these gorgeous textured shorts. The front has this chevron-like textured print and the back of the shorts is just plain fabric. They have an elastic waistband (comfort!! YAY!) and pockets. The material is THICK and not see-through at all, so that’s also a plus.

They also have a solid 5″ inseam which I like. Ain’t nobody got time for booty shorts. They’re also totally the type of shorts you can easily dress up or dress down. I know these are going to be a favorite for me this spring and summer. Oh, and the price tag was totally spot on, in my opinion!

Mystree “Armann Lace Trim Blouse” – Size XL – $48

Mystree "Armann Lace Trim Blouse"

Oh this blouse, how I love thee, let me count the ways! It’s GORGEOUS. I love the lace detailing at the bottom… the blouse is lightweight and has a REALLY fun detail on the back… the blouse buttons up in the back! So cute! It’s a great tank on it’s own but it also makes a great layering piece (throw on a blazer or jacket and you’re good to go). I also felt the price tag on this one was right on for the quality and detail of the lace and button back.

Easily a new favorite top!

Papermoon “Pollyanne Lace Hem Kimono” – Size XL – $38

Papermoon "Pollyanne Lace Hem Kimono"

I was weirdly nervous about trying a LACE kimono. I mean, I love kimonos, but a lace one? I dunno! I didn’t want it to feel / look too much like something you wear to bed. If that makes sense. But let me tell you guys… this kimono is stunning. I absolutely LOVE it. It’s so gorgeous in person and the detailing is really beautiful.

It’s definitely one of those pieces that you have to really want to wear… I don’t think everyone is going to rock a lace kimono… but if you want to… then DO IT. Because I just instantly feel beautiful and classy in this thing. I love it.

I will say, it is a little big, but I think it works fine as it is. I kinda wish I had gotten a size large, but it’s okay… I’ll make due! I can’t wait to come up with different ways to style it!

Also, the price for this? A STEAL, in my opinion.

Brixon Ivy “Diaz Embroidery & Crochet Detail Cotton Top” – Size XL – $74 AND Pixley “Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace” – $36

Brixon Ivy "Diaz Embroidery & Crochet Detail Cotton Top" and Pixley "Carly Multi-Stone Layering Necklace"First, let’s talk this blouse.

GORGEOUS. Insanely soft. The price is up there, yes… but I really feel like the intricate details, embroidery, stitching, and lace-work justifies the price. It does fit a little “slouchy” or big, but honestly I think that’s mostly just the style of the shirt. I don’t know that I’d wear this top with anything baggy on the bottom… you’d want something a little more fitted to offset the bagginess… but it works, if that makes sense.

Let’s talk care: this blouse does wrinkle… and the material is a little different so if you ARE going to wash it, wash it in cold water on a delicate cycle, hang dry, and iron. You could also dry clean it. So, the care of it is going to be a little more high maintenance than other blouses… but I don’t care… it’s so pretty, I’m willing to put in the work!

Second, let’s talk the necklace.

While I need another necklace like I need a hole in my head, I’m always open to at least TRYING one! I mean, it is just a necklace. And then I saw this necklace and I was all like, “YEAHHHHH.”

Y’all… I love this necklace! It’s such a gorgeous layering necklace and the color is beautiful! AND it matches the shorts I got in this fix. So this necklace was a NO BRAINER keep! Plus, I thought the price was GREAT. Needless to say, I am a fan. I kinda want it in other colors now… but… I won’t. 🙂

Anyway. What do y’all think? Which item was your favorite? Have you gotten a fix lately? Have you tried Stitch Fix? If not, you should!!
