I don’t know why, but it seems to be this unspoken thing that women don’t want to admit that they’re wearing maternity jeans when they’re not pregnant.
Look, my son is four and a half months old and I am still wearing maternity jeans. #notashamed
I get it. Some women are great at bouncing back after having a baby. Some women breastfeed and lose all the weight. Some women birth a child and weigh like 30 pounds LESS than they did before they were pregnant. Those women are awesome and more power to them!
I am not one of those women.
Look, this isn’t a post about weight struggles and all that… that’s a post for another day. This is just a post where I’m admitting to the world that I am okay with the fact that I’m almost five months postpartum and I still have to wear maternity jeans.
Don’t get me wrong, some non-maternity clothes fit me just fine. But, I’m also wise enough to admit / know / realize that my body is one that changes A LOT during pregnancy and responded to both of my pregnancies quite differently. Thus, my regular jeans still just don’t fit right.
It’s reality. I’m cool with it. Building a human is tough work. I’m not going to stress out over the fact that I can’t wear my regular jeans yet. I got bigger fish to fry… so to speak.
What about you? If you’ve had a baby, how long after pregnancy did you wear maternity clothes? If you haven’t, that’s cool! We’re all friends here… what fashion confession do you want to make today?
