November is a weird month for me. It’s bittersweet. I LOVE Thanksgiving… like… I LOVE Thanksgiving and I look forward to it all month. I love the full-on arrival of Fall. I love the changing leaves. But November is also hard. November means Veteran’s Day and the anniversary of my mom’s passing… since she was a Vietnam Veteran, those days can be tough for me.

But, I also love how the month of November often causes us to pause and just be thankful.

I love seeing the lists that people write and share on social media of the things they are thankful for. It’s such a beautiful reminder of how blessed we are. And no, I don’t mean this in the #blessed, cliche, sense. I mean this in the most genuine way possible…

We. Are. So. Blessed.

Yes, this world is tough. Yes, life is tough.

But we are blessed. We should be thankful. I am thankful.

I woke up this morning in a bed. I am thankful.

I woke up this morning with a roof over my head. I am thankful.

I had food in my refrigerator and my pantry. I am thankful.

I had clothes to wear. I am thankful.

I had a car to drive. I am thankful.

I can afford to put gas in the car that I drive. I am thankful.

I love listening to podcasts and music on Spotify. I am thankful.

I have a cell phone that allows me to connect with people. I am thankful.

Places like Chipotle exist. I. AM. THANKFUL. And I know guac is extra. I can pay for the guac that is extra… thus, I am thankful.

I could go on and on and on and on. We have so. much. to be thankful for.

So I challenge you… what are you thankful for today? Write it down. 3 things. 7 things. 15 things. 120 things. Write them down. Write down what you are thankful for and post it somewhere you can see it and be reminded.
