One of the things that I love most about fair trade fashion is the uniqueness of the clothing. There’s something really special about the way fair trade goods are designed and made. They’re made with such intricacy and delicacy and intentionality. There are always beautiful details that you just don’t see on a lot of pieces that you find in big box stores. The clothing tells a story and almost gives you this sneak peek or this insight into other cultures… Y’all know my love (nay, obsession) with Victoria Road – a fair trade fashion brand. And honestly I think one of the reasons I love their clothing so much is the attention to detail and the gorgeous embroidery that so many of their pieces have.

Don’t be fooled by this tunic and the fact that it’s long-sleeved. It is summer in North Carolina and it is HOT… but this tunic is so lightweight and breathable. The fabric is incredibly comfortable and I love the print. But most of all, I adore the embroidery details. Pictures will *not* do the detail justice. The embroidered is entirely handworked on a pakki embroidery machine. It’s amazing. You can watch the process here!

Every time I wear this, people comment on how beautiful the print and embroidery are! Even my husband said how much he likes it. It’s also a great tunic to dress up or down with jewelry or even just switching out the bottoms!

This would also be a GREAT tunic to wear to a beach or resort. It has a very “resortwear” feel to it!

I continue to be blown away by the work that faire trade fashion company Victoria Road produces. Their clothing is truly gorgeous and so unique. There’s just *nothing* like it out there. I also love their heart and commitment to their artisans and their people. It’s just a rare find these days and so I can’t say enough about them!

What about you? What kinds of details are important to you in clothing? What fair trade fashion do you like?

*I am a Brand Ambassador for Victoria Road. I LOVE this company and their mission and believe in them 1000000%!
