Show me a woman over the age of 25 and a girl under the age of 7 that says they don’t love leggings and I’ll show you a LIAR. I’m kidding, I’m kidding! Leggings are a glorious invention. They’re comfortable, they stretch, they allow a full range of motion with your legs! But, leggings can also pose a problem. Leggings can wear funny or make you look frumpy when you’re not or maybe they’re even a little see through. Or maybe they just don’t, you know, hold everything in very well. And then, of course, there’s the age old debate as to whether or not leggings are pants.
In any event, I really believe that no matter your stance on leggings as pants or leggings as appropriate attire, I think we can all rally around the FACT that a pair of well made BLACK leggings are a pretty basic closet staple for just about every woman.
I’m not talking about black leggings you wear to the gym… I’m talking about black leggings that you can lounge around in on the weekend and then do a quick top change and suddenly you’re dressed up and ready to go out. I’m talking about leggings that can be worn under tunics and dresses and heels AND with an old t-shirt and sweatshirt and sneakers. Versatile black leggings are GOLD.
When Sseko Designs announced last year they were coming out with the BEST ethically made black leggings (fair trade, too!), I wasn’t sure how they’d be. But let me tell you… these are amazing. I got my pair at the end of August and I wear them ALL THE TIME!
See that high rise compression????? For reference, I am 5’4″ and a size 14 and I am wearing the XL in the Sseko Designs leggings.
They are THICK. No see through situations happening with these!
They are HIGH RISE and extremely supportive.
They are made of a really gorgeous material that almost makes them feel like a ponte knit pant – which makes them look almost like a black skinny dress pant!
They come in a wide range of sizes!
Don’t believe me? Well, I asked some fabulous women (19 different women, to be exact!!) if they’d be willing to share a picture of THEM in their Sseko Designs black leggings so you can see the leggings on other women (from younger women to moms to amazing more “seasoned” saints) to show you just how versatile these are!
And of course I had to show what the leggings look like on the gorgeous Sseko Designs models! SO classy and beautiful.
