To say I am a nail polish junkie would be a bit of an understatement. I absolutely LOVE having my nails done and playing with different colors and trends! I feel like your nail color is one of those parts of your beauty routine that you can really be adventurous with… Why? Because if you hate it you can take it RIGHT off.
So, while I have my go-to nail colors, I tend to like to try something different when I paint my nails.
I also have mentioned a time or two before that painting my nails is one of those things that while I don’t always have the time to do it, I really love to because it relaxes me. Taking 20 minutes to sit down in front of the TV or even just in a quiet room and paint my nails is stress relieving. Am I the only one that thinks this?
And while I do love getting my nails professionally done… that just doesn’t happen anymore. It’s a SERIOUSLY rare occasion that I find myself at a nail salon. So, I’m always on the hunt for a good deal on nail polish and the latest nail trends to try at home.
I’ve been loving some of the Spring Nail Trends that have been everywhere:
It also is no secret that I’m a fan of Walgreens – it’s pretty much my favorite drugstore… Even MORESO now that there is one literally a mile from our new house. I always know that I can find the best deals and the latest and greatest colors at Walgreens! PLUS, I almost can always get my makeup and nail polishes with a coupon or even on discount with my Walgreens Balance Reward Card.
Anyway… while I have a pretty good collection of nail polishes, I ventured out to Walgreens last week to get a few new ones to add to my collection and I wanted to get some new colors to play with that I didn’t already have.
Essie and Revlon polishes are typically my favorite to get from Walgreens because I know they’re great quality, but they’re also almost always on sale.
I ended up picking up two new Essie polishes from their “Neons” collection – I LOVED these colors because they are nothing like anything I have in my nail polish collection already. The blue color on the left is “Chills & Thrills” and the neon green color on the right is “Vices Versa.”
I decided to try something TOTALLY different than I usually do at home… I wanted to give the “bold patterns” AND “neons” trend a try and so I painted my nails with the Chills & Thrills color and then took the end of a bobby pin and put neon green polka dots on top of the blue with the Vices Versa color! It’s certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I actually REALLY love the way it turned out! It’s so fun and different.
And, to make it even sweeter, all the Revlon polishes at my Walgreens were BOGO!! So, I picked up a couple more classic colors… The greenish polish on the left which is #590 “Trendy” and that GORGEOUS bubblegum pink color in #290 appropriately named “Bubbly.” I can’t wait to paint my nails with these colors. I love how smooth Revlon polishes go on and I usually only need to do one or two coats.
