Okay, when I first saw the cold shoulder trend coming out, I honestly wasn’t sure what to think about it. There have been a lot of trends of late that I’ve given a bit of a stink eye to (at least for me), but this cold shoulder trend in particular I was at least open to.

I realize this is silly, but I don’t love my shoulders. It’s just not my favorite part of my body. So, I thought that because I don’t like my shoulders, that I wouldn’t like the cold shoulder style…

I’ve seen some pretty crazy and wild cold shoulder tops and I knew that if I was going to give this trend a shot, I was going to need to ease into it. Sure, laugh all you want, but I’m being serious! Hahaha I firmly believe that when you are nervous about trying a new style or a new trend, you should start with something basic or neutral in that style.

So, naturally, I turned to my beloved Elegantees (my favorite ethical clothing brand!) and I absolutely adore the Tessa cold shoulder tunic. It comes in this plum / gray color and it also comes in black! I love it! I’m wearing a size XL here, but now I’m thinking I should have done the large. But that’s okay!

I ended up loving this top. It’s so comfortable, so soft (Elegantees material is my favorite), and I love the length. It works with jeans or leggings!

I don’t know how much I’ll wear this trend beyond a basic tunic like this, but it at least got me outside of my usual comfort zone and trying something new.

What about you? Are you on board with the cold shoulder trend?
