I realized just this past weekend that I never shared with you guys my 2017 word of the year. I honestly kept going back and forth for what felt like forever (obviously an exaggeration) and couldn’t decide on my word… BUT, there was one word that just never left my mind. It kept hanging on no matter what I did and I could NOT get rid of it.

My 2017 word of the year is:

FLOURISH. (also “kustawi” which is Flourish in Swahili – focusing on my love of Kenya, too!)

I want to flourish in my life… both personally and professionally. I want to help OTHERS flourish. I want to find ways to help businesses and relationships and people flourish. Flourish just fits so perfectly with so much of what I’m doing lately… and it feels like such a great word to follow my 2016 word of the year which was “purposeful” (or purpose).

Last year was all about honing in on my purpose and what I want my life to be about… and this year it’s all about focusing on growing that purpose and flourishing in it.
