SPOILER ALERT: I didn’t keep anything in this fix. Like I have said before, I looooove Stitch Fix, but I view Stitch Fix very differently now at fix #46 than I did at fix #1. For me, it’s about investing in quality pieces I can wear over and over again. It’s about finding great, USA made or ethically made items that I love. And it’s about trying a new style or a new item that maybe I wouldn’t have picked out for myself. My stylist, Kimberly J. is amazing and has been “with me” for over three years. We have a great rapport and she totally gets my style… some months are great and other fixes are misses… but that’s okay!!
I love to share with you guys the good, the bad, and the HUH?
With all that being said… here’s what I got in my fix this month, what I thought, and why I decided *not* to keep it.
While I really did like this skirt, I didn’t LOVE it. I actually had a hard time styling it with items I already had in my closet. I tried on a few different tops with it and couldn’t find anything that I really loved with it. So, that means I wouldn’t wear it that much… so that also means that I had to return it.
Now this top I was honestly pleasantly surprised about this top. I did not, at all, think I was going to like it. And I put it on and I was like… “ohhhhhhhh this actually looks good!” BUT, at the end of the day, while I did like it… I couldn’t picture how much I’d actually wear it. So, since I was on the fence, it had to be a “no.” I’m in that space right now where if it’s not a hard YES, then it is a no.
This was a tough one for me. I honestly REALLY loved this top, but it was a hair too big (it doesn’t appear too big in the pictures, but it was definitely too big), and it was so comfortable… but I wasn’t sure if this would be a top I’d wear for years to come. It was more of a top that I think I’d love this year, but would probably get rid of next year… I’m trying to do better about NOT buying pieces like that, so I returned this one.
My husband was insistent that I keep this dress. In fact, he nearly begged me to keep it. He came up with every excuse in the book as to why I should keep it… “WHAT ABOUT DATE NIGHT?” he said… and I said, “Yes, for all those super fancy dates we go on all the time?” (We do not go on fancy dates all the time… They happen like once a year.) Hahaha so he was sad, but I returned this dress mainly because I know I’d raaaaaarely wear it… But, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t like it. It is super comfortable and really well made, but it just wasn’t for me.
This dress was a pretty quick and easy no. It was way too big and looked frumpy on me… I kinda felt like I was wearing a trash bag. Haha! I think it would have been better had it been smaller, the sizing on this one runs huge.
