If you know me, you know there are two things I love most when it comes to fashion and style… a company with an awesome mission and ethics, and a great handbag. I have always been a handbag girl… A stylish, fashionable, or beautiful purse can totally make me feel put together. Some women love shoes, some love jewelry, I love bags.
Malia Designs is a fair trade brand that makes some of the most beautiful handbags, totes, wallets, accessories, and more. I have been a huge fan of this brand for YEARS and they are actually one of the first fair trade brands I ever discovered.
Malia Designs was started in 2005 with a mission to fight human trafficking in Cambodia and around the world. They work to elevate the worth of and provide economic opportunity for women artisans in Cambodia who have been rescued from the human trafficking industry. In addition to this, Malia Designs also donates to organizations fighting human trafficking all over the world.
Malia Designs’ bags are not only beautiful, but also functional. The new fall line and Khmer collection is absolutely AMAZING. The foldover bag in wine (pictured first) is the perfect crossbody bag. It is spacious, beautiful, and incredibly well made. I love the wine print and is perfect for fall! (But let’s be honest… it’s really gorgeous year round!)
This backpack in black and white is also amazing. I love using a backpack for a purse – especially with having kids! That way I’m able to carry what I need with me, while also having my hands free. Plus, the black and white print is classic and goes with everything!
They have a few other styles in their new fall collection that are to die for!
Another thing I love about Malia Designs is that their price point is awesome and totally accessible for anyone! AND, you can use the coupon code “MOLLY25” for 25% off your order – SITEWIDE!!! 🙂
Most importantly, I love knowing that supporting a brand like Malia Designs is not only supporting a small business here in the United States, but also supporting artisans in Cambodia and helping to be a part of the fight against human trafficking.
AND, get excited, because their founder, Lia Valerio, is going to be a guest on my podcast in November. So look forward to hearing that.
Definitely check out Malia Designs and support this amazing brand. 🙂
What about you? Have you heard of Malia Designs? What do you look for in a great handbag?
