When Crystal first emailed me wanting to know if I’d be interested in photographing her wedding, I thought, “Whaaaat? You want me to take pictures of your wedding day? I’m not a wedding photographer… I just happen like to take pictures of things and people. I couldn’t ever do that.”
But after we got to talking, I realized that this was an opportunity. An opportunity to witness and capture two people who are madly in love with each other make a promise to each other in one of the most intimate, romantic, and private settings – in a courtroom. Crystal and Darron just wanted something simple, low stress, and low key. They just weren’t into the whole idea of a big “to do.”
It was perfect.
They were accompanied by me, the judge, and both of their parents – that’s it. I was HONORED to be among the group. It was short, quick, and simple, but the love felt in the room was so thick you could have cut it with a knife.
I think I may have been more nervous than Crystal and (her now husband, then fiance :)) Darron.
Crystal and Darron – thank you so much for the privilege of being there to witness you two promise to love each other until death do you part. It was an honor! I hope you both are having a BLAST on your cruise!
Here are some of my favorite images from the day:
Signing the papers…
Listening to the judge…
Time for the vows:
Exchanging rings…
The KISS!! (and a photobomb from the judge… :))
Married!
