It’s been a few years since I last did a “ways to wear” or “ways to style” blog post! I did quite a few of these back in the day… and I thought I should resurrect this series. When people ask me, “What is the #1 closet staple or piece I should add to my closet?” By far, the piece I tell every woman that she should have in her closet is a denim jacket. I love denim jackets so much that I own them in multiple washes and styles! I have a black one, white one, dark wash one, and light wash one… and I wear them ALL! Obviously, I believe that you can truly wear a denim jacket with just about anything, (I mean, I wore one on my *wedding* day… not walking down the aisle, but at the reception and in some pictures!), so this post is just scratching the surface as far as how many ways you can wear and style a denim jacket.
Now, BY FAR, the denim jacket I wear the most is my Merly jacket from ABLE. It is *the* most worn item in my entire closet. I’ve worn it over 150x. How do I know this? I track everything I wear in my Cladwell closet app and I can see that I’ve worn it over 150x… and it literally looks basically how it did the day I got it. It’s so well made and has held up to travel (16+ hour airplane rides) and hiking and running errands and chasing children and so much more. Is it on the pricier side for a denim jacket? Yes. Is it worth every penny and then some? Abso-freaking-lutely. With as much as I’ve worn it, it already has a cost-per-wear of less than $1… and considering that I’m not going to be getting rid of it any time soon… the cost per wear is only going to go down. It’s an investment piece that I know will be in my closet for years and years to come. Bonus? You can use code MOLLYS20 for 20% off your purchase from ABLE!!
